MILK MOON
handcrafted ghee,* rose,* shatavari,* lion’s mane, beetroot,* raw local honey, cinnamon,* vanilla,* cardamon* (*organic)
:: with ingredients known to be supportive for: cognition, lactation, stress, reproductive balance ::
This blend was formulated in collaboration with Milk Moon to offer specialized support to mothers in the third and fourth trimesters, and beyond. During the third trimester and throughout breastfeeding, fat is pulled from the mother’s brain and used in the formation of her baby’s brain. The omega 3 fatty acids found in pasture-raised ghee are crucial for replenishing this fat loss and supporting cognition. Reminiscent of a floral chai, the herbal allies tucked into this creamy blend offer nutritive support on all levels.
Shatavari: encourages milk production; can support a balancing effect on the reproductive system; nourishing to tissues; calming to the mind.
Lion’s Mane: Neuroregenerative and neuroprotective properties; considered an adaptogen, this mushroom can help the body adapt to stress.
Rose: Emotional and physical heart medicine; encourages a heart center that is both open and feels protected.
Beetroot: This powerful food-as-medicine tonic is rich in antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and nitrates; may help promote the healthy circulation of blood and oxygen throughout the body.
Vanilla: As a nervine, vanilla has a nourishing and supportive effect on the nervous system; can help lift the spirit; as a consciousness-shifting herb, can support presence; encourages us to relax into a state of receiving more pleasure.
Ceylon Cinnamon: A powerful ally for interrupting stagnation and helping move things along; can support healthy circulation; can offer digestive support.
Cardamom: Traditionally used as a lactation ally, cardamom can also support those experiencing nausea and is an ally to the digestive system.
Try it on toast, blended into your coffee/hot tonic to create a frothy latte, as frosting, or simply enjoy by the spoon!
Dose: This is a very potent provision. Start with 1 tsp and work your way up to 1 tbsp per day on an as-needed basis.
Shelf life: consume within 3 months of opening and store in a cool, dark area; refrigeration is not necessary but does extend the expiration date by 3 months!
Warning: Honey should never be given to babies under one year of age.
Allergen information: Contains dairy. However, the traditional process of making ghee (extra clarified butter) entails heating butter so that the milk solids (lactose + casein) are not just separated, but caramelized and removed. Many people who are otherwise dairy-free find solace in ghee.
