handcrafted ghee,* shiitake mushroom,* garlic,* lemon peel,* rosemary* (*organic)

:: with ingredients known to support: resilience, digestion, remembrance ::

This well-rounded + savory blend for cooking truly enhances any recipe and will encourage you to savour your meal. A concoction that epitomizes the “food as medicine” tradition, this blend is an apt reminder that even common ingredients can be beloved staples in your kitchen apothecary. Shiitake mushroom both adds a delicious umami flavor to recipes and offers rich functional support - as an adaptogen assisting in the digestion of our experiences, including stress, and as related to immune function. Garlic has been utilized since ancient times as a talisman with rich folklore surrounding this food/herb as being protective against negative energy and, to this day, is considered immuno-supportive. Lemon peel has rich concentrations of the nutrients found in lemon juice, including vitamins C + A, calcium, folate + magnesium. Like shiitake and garlic, lemon peel also helps treat oxidative stress due to the antioxidant contents of these ingredients. “Rosemary for remembrance,” as they say! This prevalent herb has a long history of use in herbal medicine for enhancing memory, as well as helping to ease headaches and relieving flatulent indigestion (carminative action).

With a smoke point of over 480,* try it for sauteing, roasting veggies, frying eggs, in soup/broth, in your meat dishes, in bread recipes, and more!

Shelf life: consume within 3 months of opening and store in a cool, dark area; refrigeration is not necessary but does extend the expiration date by 3 months!

Allergen information: Contains dairy. However, the traditional process of making ghee (extra clarified butter) entails heating butter so that the milk solids (lactose + casein) are not just separated, but caramelized and removed. Many people who are otherwise dairy-free find solace in ghee.

Warnings: Consult with a healthcare provider prior to use if pregnant or lactating. Due to the presence of shiitake, consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are taking blood thinners (anti-coagulants).
